In the year 2001, Saveetha Engineering College (SEC) was founded under the visionary leadership of Dr. N. M. Veeraiyan, an unwavering and dedicated medical professional.
Today, SEC stands proud with a thriving student body of 4,349 individuals, offering 15 undergraduate programs, 8 postgraduate courses, which include MBA, MS by Research, and Doctoral programs (PhD) across five academic departments. Notably, 5 of our undergraduate programs have earned accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
In the academic year 2017-18, SEC achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the 96th rank in the prestigious NIRF (National Institute Ranking Framework), a noteworthy recognition that places us alongside renowned institutions such as IITs, central universities, state institutions, and private colleges across India.
Furthermore, our commitment to academic excellence was validated when we were awarded an ‘A’ GRADE by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a remarkable score of 3.19 out of 4, affirming our dedication to quality education for a continuous period of 5 years.
In recognition of our pursuit of academic autonomy, SEC was granted AUTONOMOUS status by the University Grants Commission (UGC), commencing from the academic year 2019-2020.
SEC proudly holds the distinction of being recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India, reflecting our significant contributions to research and development.
